Actually it isn’t the sea, it’s a lake. And in fact it’s only the bay of a lake.
But it’s pretty fucking huge.
And powerful.
And these days quite, um, cold.
But like look at that –
That is one big body of water. And it isn’t even the biggest one.
Once I flew from Toronto to Winnipeg and we passed over Lake Superior. That shit went on for days. Huge, massive lake.
Not quite the sea, not the moody enchantment of the Atlantic off Maine or Connecticut, not the terrifying energy of the Pacific off Vancouver Island, not the inviting enrapture of the Caribbean but….works for me.
Weekly Photo Challenge – sea
Love. Refreshing.
So gorgeous out there today…stayed til I was shaking with cold π
Makes me want to grab my surfboard…
Haha! A little cold but some nice waves today for sure… π
My wet suit kept me very comfortable surfing NYC on new years day.
Well look at that. I was eyeing some wetsuits today but doubted their capacity to deal with the cold.
New Year’s Day surfing? Special NYC event?
Yes: The Annual Guapo Quest for Calm and Quiet π
At least, I hope it will be an annual thing.
Ahhh…best of luck with that.
Oye, y es cierto que eres guapo??
“That shit went on for days.”
That just made me piss myself laughing! π
Oh wonderful. I hesitated to use cuss words as I don’t often but it just seemed the only way to describe that muthafucka.
I love swear words. Well, being Australian its a part of our vernacular, but thrown out at the right time they’re the most expressive forms of language we have… and you nailed it!
Oh I see, I did not know that about Australians.
We are both British colonies but being on opposite sides of the planet makes it easy to remain ignorant.
You must know some good Brazilian cuss words by now…
There’s many, but people keep it fairly tame in general conversation.
I love that “sea” too. Wish I was there now, except for the cold. A frost warning for tonight… so soon in the season.
Phew, yes, this morning is brisk indeed. But what a gorgeous clean body of water…
Beautiful photos! It makes me long for a holiday!
Oh yes! Hope you get one soon…
