Musical Interlude – Dancing Revolutions

Have you seen this? If you haven’t, you must, it is so disarmingly charming – the standard lip-sync trick, with an astounding degree of choreography…

The fragment of a Making Of is also worth checking out, for all the real-life sounds and the unique treat of seeing a tiny woman operate a Steadicam –

The initiative comes from Microbanker – I hadn’t heard of them before, but I’ve been donating through Kiva for a couple of years now – similar microfinancing concept.
I was reminded of the Price Tag piece this morning, doing an impromptu dance class in my dance-teacher-friend’s kitchen, when she mentioned that the One Billion Rising movement is teaching / spreading the dance steps for the dance that everyone can learn for the next wave of flashmob dances on February 14, 2014. We’ve all got a few months still to learn the steps…

And there is this beautiful version from some months back by the New Light Girls in Kalighat, Kolkata, India –

These productions give me such a feeling of naive, ebullient optimism, making me feel like we can fix everything, the future could be anything, could be beautiful beyond our wildest dreams…
Meanwhile here’s the choreography of next February’s dance as taught by Debbie Allen –
